The p-trap is a U-shaped pipe that traps water and prevents sewer gases from entering the bathroom.

To plumb a bathroom sink drain, you will need the following tools and materials:

Adjustable wrench
Pliers
Putty knife
Plumber's putty
Teflon tape
Drain cleaner

Once you have gathered your tools and materials, you can begin the process of plumbing the bathroom sink drain. First, remove the old drain by unscrewing the drain body from the sink. Be sure to catch any water that may drain out of the sink.

Next, clean the surface of the sink where the drain body will be attached. Apply a bead of plumber's putty around the base of the drain body and insert it into the sink. Tighten the drain body until it is snug.

Now, attach the tailpiece to the drain body by tightening the nuts on the tailpiece. Next, attach the p-trap to the tailpiece and tighten the nuts on the p-trap. Be sure to apply Teflon tape to the threads of the nuts before tightening them.

Finally, run water down the drain to test for leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the nuts on the drain body, tailpiece, and p-trap until the leaks stop.
