How to Repair a Leaking Kohler Bathroom Faucet

Step 1: Gather Tools and Materials

Locate the water supply valves under the bathroom sink. Turn both valves clockwise to turn off the water supply.
Step 3: Remove Handle
Remove the set screw on the handle using a Phillips head screwdriver. Pull the handle straight up to remove it.
Step 4: Remove Cartridge
Using a faucet wrench, loosen and remove the cartridge nut. Pull the cartridge straight out of the faucet body.
Step 5: Inspect Cartridge
Examine the cartridge for damage or wear. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.
Step 6: Clean Seats
Use a clean cloth to remove any debris or mineral buildup from the seats where the cartridge sits.
Step 7: Apply Plumber's Tape
Wrap plumber's tape around the threads of the cartridge nut.
Step 8: Install New Cartridge
Insert the new cartridge into the faucet body. Tighten the cartridge nut using the faucet wrench.
Step 9: Reassemble Handle
Align the handle with the cartridge and push it down until it snaps into place. Secure it with the set screw.
Step 10: Turn On Water Supply
Slowly turn on the water supply valves under the bathroom sink. Check for leaks around the handle and cartridge.
Step 11: Tighten Washers (Optional)
If there are still leaks, check the washers on the water supply lines. Use a wrench to tighten them.
Step 12: Test Faucet
Turn the faucet on and off several times to ensure it is working properly and there are no leaks.
