There should be two shut-off valves under the sink, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. Turn both valves clockwise to turn off the water. 2.Open the faucet.
This will release any remaining water in the faucet. 3.Remove the aerator.
The aerator is the small, screen-like attachment at the end of the faucet. Use a wrench to unscrew it. 4.Remove the handle.
There will be a small screw on the top of the handle. Use a screwdriver to remove the screw, then pull the handle off. 5.Remove the packing nut.
The packing nut is the large nut that holds the faucet in place. Use a wrench to loosen the packing nut, then remove it by hand. 6.Remove the old faucet washer.
The faucet washer is a small, rubber washer that sits inside the packing nut. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the old faucet washer out. 7.Install the new faucet washer.
Place the new faucet washer in the packing nut. Make sure that the washer is facing the correct way. 8.Reinstall the packing nut.
Tighten the packing nut using a wrench. Be careful not to overtighten the packing nut, as this can damage the faucet. 9.Reinstall the handle.
Place the handle back on the faucet and tighten the screw. 10.Reinstall the aerator.
Screw the aerator back onto the end of the faucet. 11.Turn on the water supply.
Turn the shut-off valves counterclockwise to turn on the water. 12.Check for leaks.
Open the faucet and check for any leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the packing nut or the handle screw until the leak stops.
