Materials You'll Need

Before you begin, gather the following materials:

New bathroom sink faucet
Adjustable wrench
Phillips head screwdriver
Flathead screwdriver
Plumber's putty
Teflon tape

Step 1: Turn Off the Water Supply

Locate the water supply valves beneath the sink. Turn the valves clockwise to shut off the water supply.

Step 2: Disconnect the Water Supply Lines

Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts that connect the water supply lines to the faucet. Pull the lines away from the faucet.

Step 3: Remove the Old Faucet

Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the faucet in place. Lift the faucet straight up to remove it from the sink.

Step 4: Clean the Sink Surface

Clean the area around the faucet hole in the sink. Remove any old plumber's putty or sealant.

Step 5: Apply Plumber's Putty

Roll a small amount of plumber's putty into a snake shape. Place the putty around the base of the new faucet.

Step 6: Install the New Faucet

Step 7: Connect the Water Supply Lines

Wrap a few layers of Teflon tape around the threads of the water supply lines. Connect the lines to the faucet and tighten the nuts with an adjustable wrench.
