How to Clean Hair Out of Bathroom Sink Drain

Bathroom sink drains can become clogged with hair over time. This can cause water to drain slowly, or even stop draining altogether. If you find yourself in this situation, there are a few things you can do to clean the drain and get your sink draining again.

Use a Drain Snake

A drain snake is a long, thin tool that can be inserted into the drain to remove hair and other debris. To use a drain snake, simply insert the snake into the drain and turn the handle to feed the snake down the drain. Once you feel resistance, start pulling the snake back out of the drain. The hair and debris should come out with the snake.

Use a Chemical Drain Cleaner

Chemical drain cleaners are another option for cleaning hair out of a bathroom sink drain. To use a chemical drain cleaner, simply pour the cleaner down the drain and let it sit for the amount of time specified on the bottle. Once the time is up, flush the drain with hot water.

Use a Baking Soda and Vinegar Solution

A baking soda and vinegar solution can also be used to clean hair out of a bathroom sink drain. To use this method, simply pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 1/2 cup of vinegar. Allow the solution to sit for 15 minutes, then flush the drain with hot water.
