How To Replace Broken Floor Tile In Bathroom

If you have a broken floor tile in your bathroom, don't worry - it's a relatively easy fix that you can do yourself with a few simple tools. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to replace a broken floor tile in your bathroom:

1. Safety First

Before you start, make sure to turn off the water supply to your bathroom and put on safety glasses. You should also wear gloves to protect your hands from sharp edges.

2. Remove the Grout

Use a grout saw or utility knife to carefully score the grout around the broken tile. Be careful not to damage the surrounding tiles. Once the grout is scored, use a hammer and chisel to gently break away the grout and remove the broken tile.

3. Clean the Area

Once the broken tile is removed, use a damp sponge to clean the area where the new tile will be installed. Make sure to remove all of the old grout and adhesive.

4. Apply New Adhesive

Apply a thin layer of tile adhesive to the back of the new tile. Use a notched trowel to ensure that the adhesive is evenly distributed. Press the new tile into place and tap it gently with a rubber mallet to set it.

5. Grout the Tile

Once the adhesive has dried, use a grout float to apply grout to the joints between the new tile and the surrounding tiles. Use a damp sponge to clean off any excess grout. Allow the grout to dry for at least 24 hours before walking on it.

6. Seal the Grout

Once the grout is dry, apply a grout sealer to protect it from water and stains. Allow the sealer to dry for at least 24 hours before using the shower or bath.

With these simple steps, you can easily replace a broken floor tile in your bathroom and restore it to its former glory.
