How To Replace Bathroom Light And Fan Switch

Replacing a bathroom light and fan switch is a relatively simple task that can be completed in about 30 minutes. However, it is important to follow the steps carefully to avoid any electrical hazards. Here are the essential aspects of how to replace a bathroom light and fan switch.

Safety First

Before you begin, turn off the power to the bathroom at the circuit breaker or fuse box. This will prevent you from being electrocuted while you are working on the switch.

Remove the Old Switch

Once the power is off, you can remove the old switch. First, remove the faceplate by unscrewing the screws that hold it in place. Then, unscrew the screws that hold the switch in place and pull it out of the electrical box.

Disconnect the Wires

Once the switch is out of the electrical box, you need to disconnect the wires. There will be two or three wires connected to the switch. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws that hold the wires in place and then pull the wires off of the switch.

Connect the New Switch
