How to Construct a Small Bathroom Cabinet: A Comprehensive Guide

Materials
- 1/2-inch plywood
- 1x4 pine boards
- 1x6 pine boards
- Wood glue
- 1 1/4-inch wood screws
- 2 1/2-inch wood screws
- Cabinet door hinges
- Door knob
- Paint or stain (optional)
Tools
- Circular saw
- Drill
- Clamps
- Measuring tape
- Level
- Sandpaper
- Paintbrush or roller (optional)
Steps
- Cut the plywood. Cut the plywood to the following dimensions:
- Two pieces: 12 inches wide x 18 inches high
- Two pieces: 12 inches wide x 6 inches high
- Assemble the sides. Apply wood glue to the edges of the two 12-inch x 18-inch pieces of plywood. Clamp them together and drive 1 1/4-inch wood screws through the plywood into the edges of the 12-inch x 6-inch pieces of plywood. Repeat this process to assemble the other side of the cabinet.
- Attach the back. Apply wood glue to the back of one of the sides. Place the plywood back in place and clamp it. Drive 1 1/4-inch wood screws through the back into the sides. Repeat this process to attach the other side.
- Build the door. Cut the 1x4 pine boards to the following dimensions:
- Two pieces: 12 inches long
- Two pieces: 17 inches long
- Attach the door. Place the door on the cabinet and center it. Attach the hinges to the door and the cabinet. Screw the door knob into the door.
- Finish the cabinet. Sand the cabinet to smooth any rough edges. Paint or stain the cabinet if desired.
- Install the cabinet. Hang the cabinet on the wall using appropriate hardware. Make sure to level the cabinet before securing it to the wall.
