American Standard Bathroom Sink Faucet Repair Instructions

If you're having trouble with your American Standard bathroom sink faucet, don't panic. With a few simple tools and a little know-how, you can easily repair it yourself. Here are the essential steps for American Standard bathroom sink faucet repair:

Gather Your Tools

Before you start, gather the following tools:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Flat head screwdriver
  • Hex key (if necessary)
  • Replacement parts (if necessary)

Turn Off the Water Supply

Before you start working on the faucet, turn off the water supply lines under the sink. This will prevent water from spraying out when you remove the faucet.

Remove the Aerator

The aerator is the small screen on the end of the faucet. It can get clogged over time, causing the water flow to decrease. To remove the aerator, simply unscrew it.

Remove the Handle

To remove the handle, first remove the cap on the top of the handle. Then, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that are holding the handle in place. Once the screws are removed, you can pull the handle straight up and off the faucet.

Replace the Cartridge

The cartridge is the main component of the faucet. If the cartridge is worn out or damaged, it can cause the faucet to leak or drip. To replace the cartridge, use a hex key to remove the screws that are holding it in place. Then, pull the cartridge straight up and out of the faucet. Inspect the cartridge for any damage. If the cartridge is damaged, replace it with a new one.

Reinstall the Handle and Aerator

Once the cartridge is replaced, reinstall the handle and aerator. To reinstall the handle, simply push it down onto the faucet and tighten the screws. To reinstall the aerator, simply screw it back onto the end of the faucet.

Turn On the Water Supply

Once the faucet is reassembled, turn on the water supply lines under the sink. Check for any leaks. If there are no leaks, your faucet is now repaired.
