Tools and Materials Needed:

Adjustable wrench
Phillips screwdriver
Flat-head screwdriver
New faucet cartridge
Plumber's putty
Rags

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Turn off the water supply: Locate the water supply valves beneath the sink and turn them off. Open the faucet to release any residual water.
Remove the faucet handle: Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw that secures the faucet handle. Pull the handle straight up and off the faucet body.
Remove the cartridge retaining nut: Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the cartridge retaining nut located behind the handle. Do not remove it completely.
Pull out the old cartridge: Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the cartridge loose from the faucet body. Pull the cartridge straight out.
Apply plumber's putty: Apply a thin layer of plumber's putty around the base of the new cartridge.
Insert the new cartridge: Push the new cartridge into the faucet body until it is fully seated.
Tighten the cartridge retaining nut: Use an adjustable wrench to tighten the cartridge retaining nut. Do not overtighten.
Reattach the faucet handle: Push the faucet handle back onto the faucet body and secure it with the screw.
Turn on the water supply: Slowly turn on the water supply valves and check for leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the cartridge retaining nut or reapply plumber's putty.
