Essential Aspects of Delta Bathroom Faucet Dripping Fix

Delta bathroom faucets are known for their durability and reliability, but even the best faucets can develop a drip over time. A dripping faucet can be more than just a nuisance; it can also waste water and energy. If you're facing this issue, don't worry; fixing a dripping Delta bathroom faucet is a relatively simple task that can be completed in a few minutes.

To fix a dripping Delta bathroom faucet, you'll need the following tools and supplies:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Flat head screwdriver
  • Faucet washer
  • O-ring

Once you have your tools and supplies together, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the faucet. There should be two shut-off valves under the sink, one for hot water and one for cold water. Turn both valves clockwise to turn off the water.
  2. Remove the aerator. The aerator is the small, screen-like attachment at the end of the faucet spout. Use a wrench to unscrew the aerator and remove it.
  3. Remove the handle. The handle is held in place by a screw. Use a screwdriver to remove the screw and pull off the handle.
  4. Remove the cartridge. The cartridge is the part of the faucet that controls the flow of water. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cartridge in place, and then pull out the cartridge.
  5. Replace the washer and O-ring. The washer is a small, rubber washer that sits between the cartridge and the faucet body. The O-ring is a small, rubber ring that sits between the cartridge and the handle. Replace both the washer and the O-ring with new ones.
  6. Reassemble the faucet. Insert the new cartridge into the faucet body and tighten the nut. Replace the handle and tighten the screw. Replace the aerator and tighten it.
  7. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks. Slowly turn on the water supply to the faucet and check for any leaks. If you see any leaks, tighten the nuts or screws that are causing the leak.

Fixing a dripping Delta bathroom faucet is a simple task that can be completed in a few minutes. By following these steps, you can save yourself the time and expense of calling a plumber.

If you're not comfortable fixing the faucet yourself, you can always call a plumber. However, if you're handy and have a few basic tools, you can save yourself some money by fixing the faucet yourself.
