New bathroom sink drain
Adjustable wrench
Plumber's putty
Putty knife

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the old drain: Place a bucket or bowl under the sink to catch any water that may leak out. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the slip nut that connects the drain to the sink. Once the nut is loose, pull the drain straight up to remove it.
Clean the drain hole: Once the old drain is removed, use a putty knife to remove any old plumber's putty or debris from the drain hole. The hole should be clean and smooth before installing the new drain.
Apply plumber's putty: Roll a small piece of plumber's putty into a rope and place it around the base of the new drain. The putty should be about 1/4 inch thick.
