How To Build A Tall Bathroom Storage Cabinet

Cut the following pieces from the 1/2-inch plywood:

  • 1 top: 24 inches x 24 inches
  • 1 bottom: 24 inches x 24 inches

Cut the following pieces from the 1 1/2 x 2 lumber:

  • 8 stiles: 72 inches long
  • 8 rails: 22 inches long

Cut the following pieces from the 1 1/4 x 3 lumber:

  • 4 legs: 4 inches long
Step 3: Assemble the frame

Assemble the frame of the cabinet by attaching the stiles to the rails with wood screws and wood glue. The stiles should be flush with the top and bottom of the rails.

Step 4: Attach the back

Attach the back of the cabinet to the frame with wood screws and wood glue. The back should be flush with the top, bottom, and sides of the frame.

Step 5: Attach the shelves

Attach the shelves to the frame with wood screws and wood glue. The shelves should be evenly spaced and should be level.

Step 6: Attach the top and bottom

Attach the top and bottom of the cabinet to the frame with wood screws and wood glue. The top and bottom should be flush with the front and back of the frame.

Step 7: Attach the legs

Attach the legs to the bottom of the cabinet with wood screws and wood glue. The legs should be evenly spaced and should be level.

Step 8: Sand and finish

Sand the cabinet smooth and then apply paint or stain. Allow the paint or stain to dry completely.

Step 9: Install the doors and hardware

Install the doors and hardware to the cabinet. The doors should be hung so that they open and close smoothly.
