How to Change Bathroom Lights

Changing bathroom lights can be a daunting task, but it's not as difficult as it may seem. By following these step-by-step instructions, you can safely and easily update the lighting in your bathroom. ### Safety First Before you begin, turn off the power to the bathroom at the circuit breaker or fuse box. This will prevent you from getting shocked while working on the lights. ### Gather Your Tools You will need a few tools to change your bathroom lights. These include: * A screwdriver * A pair of pliers * A ladder or step stool * A new light fixture ### Remove the Old Light Fixture Once the power is off, you can begin removing the old light fixture. Most light fixtures are held in place by screws. Simply use a screwdriver to remove the screws and then carefully pull the fixture down from the ceiling. ### Disconnect the Wires Once the light fixture is down, you will need to disconnect the wires. Most light fixtures have two wires, a black wire and a white wire. Use a pair of pliers to twist the wire nuts off of the wires. Then, pull the wires apart. ### Connect the New Light Fixture Now it's time to connect the new light fixture. First, feed the wires from the new fixture through the hole in the ceiling. Then, twist the black wire from the new fixture to the black wire from the ceiling. Do the same with the white wires. Finally, secure the wire nuts by twisting them back on. ### Mount the New Light Fixture Once the wires are connected, you can mount the new light fixture. Most light fixtures are mounted by screws. Simply line up the holes in the fixture with the holes in the ceiling and insert the screws. Tighten the screws until the fixture is secure. ### Turn on the Power Once the new light fixture is mounted, you can turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Then, flip the switch to turn on the light. If the light turns on, you've successfully changed your bathroom light!
