Keeping your bathroom sink clean and free-flowing is essential for maintaining a hygienic and comfortable bathroom environment. Cleaning out the sink trap is a simple task that can be done in a few minutes with the right tools and materials.

Step 1: Gather Your Tools and Materials

Bucket or container to catch water
Old towels or rags
Plunger
Wrench or pliers
Baking soda and vinegar or commercial drain cleaner
Scrub brush
Flashlight (optional)

Step 2: Prepare the Area

Place the bucket or container beneath the sink to catch any water that may spill. Spread old towels or rags around the sink to protect your floor from water damage. If you have a double sink, plug the other sink to prevent water from flowing into it.

Step 3: Remove the Drain Stopper

Locate the drain stopper in the center of the sink. If it is a pop-up stopper, simply lift it out. If it is a screw-on stopper, use a wrench or pliers to loosen and remove it.

Step 4: Clear the Drain of Water
