How to Fix a Leaking Kohler Bathroom Faucet

A leaky bathroom faucet can be a frustrating problem, but it's one that you can usually fix yourself with a few simple tools and a little bit of time. Kohler bathroom faucets are known for their quality, but even they can develop leaks over time. If you have a Kohler bathroom faucet that's leaking, follow these steps to fix it.

1. Gather your tools

You will need the following tools to fix a leaking Kohler bathroom faucet: - Phillips screwdriver - Flathead screwdriver - Adjustable wrench - Replacement cartridge (if necessary)

2. Turn off the water supply

The first step is to turn off the water supply to the faucet. There are usually two shut-off valves under the sink, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. Turn both valves clockwise to turn off the water.

3. Remove the handle

Once the water is turned off, you can remove the handle. Most Kohler bathroom faucets have a small screw on the back of the handle. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw, then pull the handle straight off.

4. Remove the cartridge

The cartridge is the part of the faucet that controls the flow of water. To remove the cartridge, use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the cap on the top of the faucet. Once the cap is removed, you will see a screw. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw, then lift the cartridge straight out of the faucet.

5. Inspect the cartridge

Once the cartridge is removed, inspect it for any damage. If the cartridge is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

6. Install a new cartridge (if necessary)

If the cartridge is damaged, you will need to install a new one. To do this, simply insert the new cartridge into the faucet and tighten the screw.

7. Reassemble the faucet

Once the cartridge is installed, you can reassemble the faucet. To do this, simply reverse the steps that you took to disassemble it.

8. Turn on the water supply

Once the faucet is reassembled, turn on the water supply and check for leaks. If there are no leaks, you have successfully repaired your Kohler bathroom faucet.
