How to Install a Bathroom Basin Waste

New basin waste
Adjustable spanner
Plumber's putty or silicone sealant
Rags or a sponge

Step 1: Turn Off the Water Supply

Locate the isolation valves under the basin and turn them clockwise to shut off the water supply to the basin.

Step 2: Disconnect the Old Waste

Place a rag or sponge under the basin to catch any water that may drain out. Use an adjustable spanner to loosen the locknut that connects the old waste to the basin. Once the locknut is loose, remove the old waste by pulling it straight down.

Step 3: Clean the Basin Opening

Use a damp cloth to clean the opening in the basin where the waste will be installed. Remove any old plumber's putty or silicone sealant.
