2. Plan the Fan Location and Cut the Hole

Choose a suitable location on the ceiling for the fan, typically above the shower or tub. Mark the outline of the fan housing on the drywall using a pencil. Using a drywall saw, carefully cut out the hole.

3. Install the Junction Box and Wiring

Mount a junction box inside the attic above the fan hole. Run electrical wire from the bathroom light switch to the junction box and connect the wires according to the manufacturer's instructions. Use wire nuts and electrical tape to secure the connections.

4. Install the Ducting

Connect the ducting to the fan housing and secure it with clamps or duct tape. Route the ducting through the attic to an exterior vent or soffit. Cut the ducting to the appropriate length and secure it using nails or screws.

5. Mount the Fan and Cover

Insert the fan housing into the hole in the drywall and secure it with screws provided by the manufacturer. Connect the electrical wires from the fan to the wires in the junction box. Place the vent cover over the fan and secure it.

6. Caulk and Finish

Apply a bead of caulk around the edges of the fan housing to seal any gaps. Allow the caulk to dry, then turn on the fan to ensure it's working properly. Enjoy your newly ventilated bathroom!
