How To Remove And Install A Bathroom Faucet

Removing and installing a bathroom faucet is a fairly simple plumbing task that most homeowners can complete in an afternoon. By following these step-by-step instructions, you can save yourself the cost of hiring a plumber.

Before you begin, you will need to gather a few tools and materials:

Adjustable wrench
Phillips screwdriver
Flathead screwdriver
New bathroom faucet
Plumber's putty
Teflon tape

Once you have gathered your tools and materials, you can begin the process of removing and installing your bathroom faucet.

Removing the Old Faucet

1. Turn off the water supply to the faucet. There will be two shut-off valves under the sink, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. Turn both valves clockwise to shut off the water.

2. Disconnect the water supply lines from the faucet. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts that connect the water supply lines to the faucet. Be careful not to overtighten the nuts, as this can damage the water supply lines.
