How to Remove a Bathroom Vent Fan Motor

Step 1: Safety First

Step 2: Remove the Vent Fan Grille

The vent fan grille is usually held in place by screws or clips. Remove the screws or clips and carefully pull the grille away from the wall.

Step 3: Disconnect the Wiring

Once the grille is removed, you'll see the motor and wiring. Disconnect the wiring from the motor by carefully pulling the wires off of the terminals. Note which wire goes on which terminal so that you can reconnect them correctly later.

Step 4: Remove the Motor
