Step 1: Gather Your Tools

Step 2: Turn Off the Water Supply

The first step is to turn off the water supply to the faucet. There will be two valves under the sink, one for hot water and one for cold water. Turn both valves clockwise to turn off the water.

Step 3: Remove the Faucet Handle

Once the water is turned off, you can remove the faucet handle. Most handles are attached with a screw or a set screw. If your handle is attached with a screw, simply remove the screw with a screwdriver. If your handle is attached with a set screw, you'll need to use an Allen wrench to remove the screw.

Step 4: Tighten the Packing Nut

Step 5: Reinstall the Faucet Handle
