How To Replace Broken Tile In Bathroom

When a tile in your bathroom breaks, it's not just an eyesore - it can also be a safety hazard. Broken tiles can have sharp edges that can cut your feet, and they can also create a tripping hazard. If you have a broken tile in your bathroom, it's important to replace it as soon as possible. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

Step 1: Gather your materials

You will need the following materials to replace a broken tile in your bathroom:

  • A new tile of the same size and shape as the broken tile
  • A tile cutter (if the new tile is not the same size as the broken tile)
  • Adhesive specifically for bathroom tiles
  • A grout float
  • Grout
  • A wet saw or tile saw (if the new tile needs to be cut)
  • Safety glasses
  • Work gloves

Step 2: Remove the broken tile

Once you have gathered your materials, you can begin removing the broken tile. Wear safety glasses and work gloves to protect yourself from flying shards of glass.

Use a hammer and chisel to carefully remove the broken tile. Be careful not to damage the surrounding tiles.

Step 3: Prepare the new tile

If the new tile is not the same size as the broken tile, you will need to cut it to fit. Use a tile cutter or wet saw to make a clean cut.

Once the new tile is cut to size, you can begin to prepare it for installation. Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the back of the tile.

Step 4: Install the new tile

Once the new tile is prepared, you can install it in place of the broken tile. Carefully align the new tile with the surrounding tiles and press it into place.

Use a grout float to apply grout to the joints between the new tile and the surrounding tiles. Be sure to press the grout into the joints firmly.

Step 5: Clean up

Once the grout has dried, you can clean up the area. Use a damp sponge to wipe away any excess grout from the tiles.

Your new tile is now installed! Enjoy your new, updated bathroom.
