How to Replace a Kohler Bathroom Sink Faucet Cartridge

Replacement Kohler faucet cartridge

Adjustable wrench or Allen wrench (depending on your faucet model)

Phillips head screwdriver

Clean cloth or paper towels

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Turn off the water supply: Locate the shut-off valves under the sink and turn them clockwise to turn off the water supply.

2. Open the faucet: Open the faucet to release any remaining water in the lines.

3. Remove the faucet handle: Remove the cap on the top of the handle and loosen the screw underneath it using a Phillips head screwdriver. Pull the handle straight up to remove it.

4. Remove the aerator: Use an adjustable wrench to remove the aerator, which is located at the tip of the faucet.

5. Unscrew the cartridge retaining nut: Using an adjustable wrench or Allen wrench, loosen the cartridge retaining nut, which is located just below the aerator.

6. Pull out the old cartridge: Grip the cartridge with a cloth and pull it straight out.

7. Inspect the O-rings: Inspect the O-rings on the old cartridge for any damage or wear. If they are damaged, replace them with new ones.

8. Install the new cartridge: Insert the new cartridge into the faucet body and push it in until it is seated properly.

9. Tighten the cartridge retaining nut: Tighten the cartridge retaining nut using an adjustable wrench or Allen wrench. Do not overtighten.

10. Reinstall the aerator: Screw the aerator back onto the faucet.

11. Reinstall the faucet handle: Place the handle back on the faucet and tighten the screw.

12. Turn on the water supply: Turn the shut-off valves under the sink counterclockwise to turn the water supply back on.

13. Check for leaks: Open the faucet and check for any leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the cartridge retaining nut or the aerator further.
