How to Stop a Delta Bathroom Faucet From Dripping
A dripping faucet is not only annoying, but it can also waste a lot of water and increase your water bill. If you have a Delta bathroom faucet that is dripping, there are a few things you can do to stop it.
The first thing you need to do is determine the source of the leak. There are two common places where leaks occur in Delta faucets: the cartridge and the O-rings. The cartridge is a cylindrical-shaped component that controls the flow of water through the faucet. The O-rings are small, rubber gaskets that create a seal between the cartridge and the faucet body.
If the leak is coming from the cartridge, you will need to replace it. To do this, you will need to turn off the water supply to the faucet and then remove the handle. Once the handle is removed, you will be able to access the cartridge. Use a wrench to loosen the cartridge and then pull it out of the faucet body. Insert the new cartridge into the faucet body and tighten it with a wrench. Turn the water supply back on and check for leaks.
If the leak is coming from the O-rings, you can replace them without having to remove the cartridge. To do this, you will need to turn off the water supply to the faucet and then remove the aerator. The aerator is the small, screen-like component that is located at the end of the faucet. Once the aerator is removed, you will be able to access the O-rings. Use a small screwdriver or pick to remove the old O-rings and then insert the new ones. Replace the aerator and turn the water supply back on. Check for leaks.
If you have tried the above steps and the faucet is still dripping, there may be a more serious problem with the faucet. In this case, you should call a plumber to take a look at it.
