To wire a new bathroom exhaust fan, you'll need the following tools and materials:

Non-contact voltage tester
Phillips head screwdriver
Wire strippers
Electrical tape
Caulk

1/4-inch masonry drill bit
Mounting screws (if not included with the fan)
Wire nuts

Step-by-Step Wiring Instructions

1. Determine Wiring Location: Identify the location of the electrical box where you'll be connecting the fan.

2. Install the Fan Housing: Mount the fan housing onto the ceiling using the provided screws. Ensure it's securely attached and level.

3. Connect the Wires: Strip about 6 inches of insulation from the ends of the fan's wires (black, white, and green/bare ground). Connect the black wire from the fan to the black wire in the electrical box. Connect the white wire from the fan to the white wire in the box. Twist the bare ground wires together and connect them to the green or bare ground wire in the box. Secure each wire connection with a wire nut.

4. Seal the Connection Box: Wrap electrical tape around the wire nuts to ensure a secure and moisture-proof connection.

5. Install the Grille: Snap the grille into place on the fan housing to conceal the wiring.

6. Caulk the Fan: Apply a bead of caulk around the outside edge of the fan to seal any gaps and prevent moisture penetration.
