1. Tools and Materials

Before beginning, gather the necessary tools and materials, including a wrench, pliers, adjustable wrench, pipe wrench, plumber's putty, Teflon tape, and a new drain assembly.

2. Remove Old Drain

Use a wrench to unscrew the old drain assembly from the sink. Clean the surface where the new drain will be installed.

3. Apply Plumber's Putty

Roll a piece of plumber's putty into a rope and place it around the base of the new drain assembly. This will help create a watertight seal.

4. Insert Drain Assembly

Insert the drain assembly into the sink and tighten the mounting nut from below. Use a wrench to snugly tighten the nut but avoid overtightening.

5. Install Drain Flange

Place the drain flange over the drain assembly and secure it with screws. Ensure the flange is level and sits flush with the sink.

6. Connect P-Trap

Connect the P-trap to the drain assembly and the sink drainpipe. Tighten the nuts on the P-trap with a wrench.

7. Apply Teflon Tape

Wrap Teflon tape around the threads of the faucet tailpiece and screw it into the drain assembly. Tighten the tailpiece securely.

8. Install Faucet

Position the faucet on the sink and secure it with mounting hardware. Connect the water supply lines to the faucet.

9. Test for Leaks

Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks at the drain assembly, P-trap, or faucet connections. If leaks occur, tighten the connections as needed.
